TerBak v1.0 (c)1997 by Jon Hunt
Thank you for using TerBak. This program is used for backing up the
config files for Bo Bendtsen's excellent programs Terminate and TerMail.
The idea was inspired by my annoying habit of fiddling with software, to
the point that I render it inoperable. :-)
By using this program, its a simple job to re-install Terminate, and
then simply restore your files, to retain all your favorite settings.
By default the program will backup TERMINAT.KEY (more on this later)
TERMINAT.CFG, TM.CFG, TM.BBS and PASSWORD.TXT. Then by editing the
TERBAK.CFG file, that comes in this archive, you can add more entries to
be included, with wildcards if necessary.
INSTALLATION.
Make a new directory, e.g C:\TERBAK and copy the contents of this
archive into it. (If you have a choice, its probably a good idea to
choose a drive other than C:, as this is the one that takes the most
punishment, from the likes of Windows.) Edit the TERBAK.CFG to reflect
your preferences, paying special attention to the example, as TerBak
requires specific syntax. Then your ready to run the EXE!!
TERMINAT.KEY.
Although TerBak will work perfectly on an unregistered version of
Terminate, it will nag you until you register, by placing the keyfile in
your Terminate directory, you will automatically remove this nag. In
addition, the "/B" switch described in the next section is inoperative,
until Terminate has been registered.
/B SWITCH
This version now allows you to skip the confirmation screen, and go
straight to the backup process, by using the "/B" switch. This could be
useful for placing TerBak in a batchfile, to be used at shutdown, or by
STARTIME.EXE.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.
Firstly, my thanks go to Bo Bendtsen, for writing Terminate/TerMail, as
lets face it, this program would be pretty useless without them. :-)
My immeasurable thanks also go to (in alphabetical order):- Stan Burke,
Dave Davidson, Richard Halsall, Gord Hannah, Cliff Hetherington, Michael
Murphy, Andy Roberts and,Bob Simister for testing TerBak, and also to
Steve Stacher for his wisdom and guidance. Thanks Guys!
NOTICE.
This program is FreeWare, and can therefore be passed onto anyone. No
charge is to be made for it. Although the archiver that I have used can
be changed, please don't alter the contents. If you like the program,
tell me.
